1 | Barb G | Tucson, Arizona | 41 | Barb G | Bobby Wilson was our driver and tour guide yesterday for a full day tour of Victoria. We knew it would be a long day with an early morning departure and a late return to our hotel, but Bobby made every moment so worth it. Our agenda was to visit the Butchart gardens and then spend some free time in Victoria. Between Bobby’s stories of growing up in North Vancouver, his slight detours of the route to show us the various beautiful historic neighborhoods and homes, and highlighting the people and places that make British Columbia so special, we felt like we saw so much more. His attention to detail, his punctuality, and fantastic suggestions kept our group of 40, educated, entertained, safe, and thoroughly satisfied. He is a real gem of a gentleman and someone I highly recommend for your touring needs in Vancouver. Read more | Bobby Wilson was our driver and tour guide yesterday for a full day tour of Victoria. Butchart Gardens was amazing but we didn’t have enough time to see all there was to see…same with Victoria-we went to the British Columbia Museum (so interesting!) but then had only a short amount of time left before needing to return to the bus. There was so much we would have enjoyed seeing there but are glad we at least got a taste of it all. The ferry was enjoyable and there was a spectacular sunset on our return crossing. Alex was a terrific tour guide-seemed to know pretty much everything about everything! | A really great way to see some wonderful places! 3 | funone559 | Tucson, Arizona | 106 | funone559 | I will start by saying I went to the gardens 50 years ago and they have only gotten better. Building four distinct gardens were Jennie Butchart’s answer to her her husband’s quarry business of Portland cement mining which left a scared landscape close by. Lots of planning, topsoil, plants, hardscape and now the fourth generation’s love of this treasure’s longevity. Days are long in the summer and if you stay for the evening’s entertainment they light the Sunken Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Garden and the Italian Gardens up with colored lights for a totally different experience at night. A twofer! Plan an extra day at least for the gardens and Victoria. Second largest Chinatown after San Francisco. The Empress Hotel is stunning for a drink in the bar or high tea. Anthony was our very knowledgeable local with years of experience, historical knowledge, and where to see and eat. Anthony gets five stars too ⭐️ Read more | I will start by saying I went to the gardens 50 years ago and they have only gotten better. 4 | A5660TVnancyt | Dayton, Ohio | 20 | A5660TVnancyt | We had a wonderful day with Anthony, as our guide. The Butchart Gardens were breathtaking & well worth the long trip from Vancouver. We loved our time in Victoria too. Anthony took great care of us & provided interesting commentary along the way. You will be picked up 30 min. before the tour scheduled time. It’s important to know that it takes a while to get to the ferry & another 90 min. on the ferry. Then another 45 min. by bus to the gardens. You will also need layers on the bus (the AC keeps the coach chilly). | We had a wonderful day with Anthony, as our guide. 5 | David G | Conover, North Carolina | 37 | David G | Beautiful gardens. Certainly worth visit. Moreover, the trip from beginning to end was very memorable. Our guide and bus driver took us through parts of Vancouver City and gave details of the city and it's heritage. We boarded a large ferry for the trip across to Victoria Island and the gardens. Then a bus ride to Victoria itself - the seat of government. Wonderful City. Walked around and had a great dinner on the harbor. Subsequently, a Ferry ride back to Vancouver. I would highly this excursion - be prepared to take up the whole day. | Beautiful gardens. Certainly worth visit. Moreover, the trip from beginning to end was very memorable.
